ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Saudi Arabia and the United States are planning their first summit.Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz plans to visit the United States as part of an effort to improve political and defense relations between Riyad and Washington. Abdullah was scheduled to arrive in the United States on April 23 for a three-day visit.
"The visit reflects the good relations and the will of cooperation between the two countries to serve Saudi interest first of all," Defense Minister Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz said on Monday. "The Saudi crown prince represents the Arab nation as well as the Muslim world and every move he makes is in the service of Islam and Muslims."
Sultan termed U.S.-Saudi relations as "excellent and without reproach." He said Abdullah's visit to the United States was meant to increase cooperation and improve relations with Washington.
