Maybe the flood was regional.  There weren’t many people at that time so they may have been confined to the region of Asia minor which would have been the whole world at that time.  That way they wouldn’t need to take all the animals of the earth, just those of the region.  I don’t know for sure, but words do get misinterpreted.  I don’t doubt the word of the bible, and God can do what he wants.  If it was a world wide flood, then it would have to be done by God because as the discovery channel pointed out, it is impossible for us to see how it could be done.
