Revava to the Temple Mount in Purity
Rosh Chodesh Nissan (Apr 10)Rambam Gate (Shar Hamugrabim)
Times: 7:30-10:30 AM and 1-2 PMRevava to the Temple Mount- What is the point?
For approximately one year, the Temple Mount has been open to Jews from
7:30-10:30 AM and again from 1-2 in the afternoon, entering from the
Rambam's Gate (Shar Hamugrabim). On a normal day a small number of Jews
come, ritually pure, and ask to visit the Temple Mount. Our goal is to
increase public knowledge and interest to ascend the Temple Mount to the
permitted areas, in purity, in strict accordance with Halacha and at the
same time to broaden and strengthen the organizations which are currently
working towards that goal. In this way, we can forge the path to opening the
Temple Mount permanently to Jews, and eventually to organize and arrange a
Jewish place of worship on the Mount. What is the Plan?
On Sunday, Rosh Chodesh Nissan (Apr 10) a massive ascent of Jews to the
Temple Mount in purity is planned. The organizers of the Revava to the
Temple Mount campaign are making arrangements with the police to allow the
ascent of larger groups than usual in an orderly fashion throughout the day.
The groups will be led by Rabbis and expert tour guides who will ensure that
everything will be in accordance with Halacha. We ask that the participants
arrive at the Rambam Gate (Mugrabim) after immersion in a kosher Mikeveh. As
Leather shoes are forbidden on the Temple Mount, please bring with you cloth
or canvas shoes, or be prepared to walk barefoot while there. Although the
groups will be larger than usual, there is the possibility that a line will
develop between groups, so we ask for your patience and cooperation in order
that everything run smoothly. What is the Goal?
The Temple Mount is the heart of the Jewish People. Our goal is to bring as
many Jews as possible to the Temple Mount on a regular basis, in purity and
accordance with halacha, and thereby make the authorities realize the
necessity of arranging a permanent place for Jewish prayer on the Mount.
Currently there are discriminatory procedures in practice preventing Jews
from freely praying on the Mount. In order that progress be made on this
front, the organizers of Revava to the Temple Mount have promised the
authorities that the ascent will be orderly, that the participants will
listen to the instructions of the police, and in no way interact with the
Arabs who will be there. We therefore ask that all the participants conduct
themselves in accordance with these rules. The success of this mass ascent will not only be a huge sanctification of
G-d's name, but also open the door for future mass ascents including G-d
willing when the time comes, the establishment of a place of Jewish prayer
and the building of a synagogue on the Mount..."...You shall seek out His dwelling place and come there."
