"Troops Surrounding Israel on all sides"

PINCER MOVEMENT : Troops surrounding Israel

1. To the North:
Syrian-in-Lebanon troops move south of Beirut closer to Israel -- April 27, 2005
Some (UN) member states, as well as members of the Lebanese opposition, have asserted to me that Syrian military intelligence has taken up new positions in the south of Beirut and elsewhere," Mr Annan said.

2. To the South :
Egyptian Border Troops ( military; not police ) stationed in Sinai near Israel-- April 25, 2005
violates Camp David Accords March 26, 1979
The Israeli permission for 750 Egyptian soldiers to enter the Philadelphi route, partially equipped with armored vehicles and armored personnel carriers, seemingly contradicts the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty, which was approved by the Knesset in March 1979.
During the Camp David talks, then-U.S. president Jimmy Carter asked the American embassy in Tel Aviv to check whether Israeli constitutional law obligated the prime minister to obtain Knesset approval for an international agreement. The president learned that no such constitutional obligation existed, but the prime minister, Menachem Begin, made it clear to him that in any event he considered himself dependent on the Knesset's approval.
