Yesterday Deborah gave Karen some excellent Scripture verses for those in need.
We made a webpage of those verses and added some input :
www.cybertime.net/~ajgood/broken.htmlAll of us have been there .
For all those who are broken-hearted:
May He send a friend to help in time of need.
May He lighten your load.
May you see the good in all things and then praise HIM for it.
May the Lord show you a way TODAY .We must be faithful and grateful and hang in there, calling upon Him moment by moment.
" In all things give thanks" 1 Thessalonians 5:18Whatever the problems are, " this too shall pass" .
Problems will be resolved, and we will go on, in the strength of the Lord.
We must realize that to end it all is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.Sometimes we need to "let go" of the circumstances ( or persons) that rob us of peace of mind.
Pray for those who have hurt you. It nurtures your own soul and gives peace of mind when you do that. To forgive those who have wronged you means to wish them well. It does not necessarily mean having fellowship with them.
Usually for those who have hurt us : "from such turn away" 2 Timothy 3:1- 5When we "let go", we need to replace that space with involvement of some kind of activity that is uplifting.
Like:
Visiting the elderly in rest homes. ( very uplifting and very fulfilling )
When we visit the elderly, we cut some geraniums, or any easy to obtain flowers, and put them in a soda can --- wrapped in tin foil.... tied with a yarn bow ( remnant piece).
The geranium blooms last for a very long time. Then we take a piece of paper
-- fold it over, so that it can stand on a desk---
and write a verse from the Bible in it, with a sentence or two from us.
It costs nothing for the flowers and card, and yet what a difference it makes in someone's life.
If you have the time, maybe a colorful cut out from the newspaper ads will perk up the card.
Be as creative as you allow yourself. You never have to worry about conversation. Most elderly persons just want someone to listen to them.
Maybe you could ask general questions about their childhood.
It is very rewarding to learn from others.Or you may want to :
Keep busy with work at home, or in the workplace.
Or take up a hobby: Gardening, sewing, writing, cooking, crafts, reading; having a pet in the home, like a bird.Suggestion: Get as many second-hand books of interest from a thrift shop and read and read and read. Or put in a good video at home and re-watch it.
Try to keep your mind off of your problems whenever they remind you that they are there.
"pulling down of strongholds"
( asking God to bind Satan from coming against you; asking for the BLOOD Covering ) ...
"Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."
2 Corinthians 10:4, 5Repeating this prayer throughout the day:
"Into your hands Lord I commit this problem. Please take it away.
Please give me strength just for today.""Lord for tomorrow and its needs, I do not pray.
Keep me God within Thy grace, just for today".A New Day
http://susie1114.com/Newday.htmTry not to look at the whole picture. Get life down to bite-sizes ...one day at a time....one hour at a time...one minute at a time....one nano second at a time. ( It can get like that ).
Complete Serenity Prayer
http://saltfactory.com/library/poetry/serenity.htmPerhaps one could get out and go grocery shopping each day ( buy in little quantities). Being out and about amongst people is uplifting. Maybe go to a coffee shop and grab a newspaper and sip a latte with Bible verses simmering in your thoughts.
Surround sound: Keep soothing music on at home, in the car, wherever.
"Music soothes the savage soul" ( old saying )Suggestion: Make a list of all that you would like to accomplish each day. Then around 4 or 5:00 in the evening, sit down with some hot tea, or decaff, or soup and check off all of your victories for that day.
Whatever is leftover, add to the next day's list, or .... let it go.
Ask yourself : "How important is it ?"Realize how things could be a lot worse than they are.
Satan knows that his time is short. Revelation 12:12
He is going to throw all he possibly can at you, and try to get you to give up.
He is going to have you exaggerate in your mind, that things are bigger than they really are.
"We are not ignorant of his devices." 2 Corinthians 2:11But "greater is HE that is in you, than he that is in the world." 1 John 4:4
We CAN do all thing through Christ Jesus who strengthens us. We CAN.
Philippians 4:13Even if you have to force it, SMILE. It helps to relax all the tension in one's face and person.
Take a deep breath. Relax. Get more rest.We are so close to the end of the road. We are so near our reward.
"Let no man ( or yourself ) take your crown from you." Revelation 3:11"We count them happy who endure." James 5:11
"Endure hardness as a good soldier " 2 Timothy 2:3
"He that endures to the end, shall be saved." Matthew 24:13
"Ride on, ride on! Rough-shod if need be;
Smooth-shod if that will do, but ride on!
Ride on over all obstacles, and Win The Race!"
Charles Dickens
