An unusual e-mail came to me today, from a lady I have
not heard from in ages. I pass it along for your
discernment. If you want to inform her of any similar
experiences you can pass it on to me and I will
forward it to her.

Dear Jim,

All praise to the Lord Jesus Christ, The Way, The
Truth and The Life.

Several years ago we corresponded briefly concerning
your most insightful explanation of the reasons for
the discrepancies between the Hebrew and modern
Christian calendars, and also concerning an angel
sighting in Georgia reported by a friend of mine. It
has been several years since that correspondence with
you which I greatly appreciated.

Something has happened recently which I would like to
describe to you in order to ask for some feedback from
you.

At the risk of sounding like a Monday-morning
quarterback, I can tell you honestly that between July
and August of 2001 the Lord told me clearly that NY
City was going to be attacked. While I was driving by
Manhattan on I 95 in August of that year, I was
looking at the World Trade Center. I heard clearly and
distinctly: "Take a good look at those towers -- you
will never see them again." During the entire previous
year, I had a sense that something was coming to our
country which would change it profoundly and forever.
I continue to have a deep sense that the WTC attack
was not the entire fulfillment of that warning. I have
checked this with my own pastor who simply said to me,
"I know. We don't have much time."

On August 8 a woman who does music ministry in my
church came to me with a sense that she was hearing
something from the Lord. She is a totally committed
Christian with a good sense of discernment who is very
careful not to be swayed "by every wind of doctrine"
or to accept any claim without prayer and testing. She
believes that God is telling her that we are in for a
great cataclysm very soon. (I had never said anything
to her about my previous sense of this message). She
has been led to pray for God's mercy to our country
because she believes she has been told that we are
going to be hit with something devastating before very
long.

This kind of idea is not surprising given our current
situation in the world. Many people are more than a
little nervous about a variety of threats. However
what this woman was saying to me did not come out of
her reaction to news reports; she was speaking from
her sense of the Lord's presence to her in prayer

Two days ago someone else came to my husband with a
similar statement. Both of these messages do not seem
to be coming from some vague sense of general anxiety
but rather out of prayerful listening to the Lord's
leading.

This man is also faithful and careful to follow good
teaching and to submit himself to God's Holy Word and
to his pastor. He has never met the woman who spoke to
me, and was completely unaware of my conversation with
her.

He said that over this past weekend he had an
encounter with the Lord which went through his entire
body like a shock wave. In this experience he was
given a message that within a year our country will be
hit by a catastrophic event and our lives will be
profoundly changed. I do not know whether he meant
that this will happen before the end of this calendar
year or within a year's time from now.

I am writing this to you because I need to test these
words and to ask for some counsel. Do you know of
other Christians who have received similar words in
the recent past? I have been looking at various web
sites to see if anyone is posting such ideas, but I am
not coming up with anything particular. Is the Lord
beginning now to call to His church concerning being
prepared for something coming *very soon*?

We all feel and realize that the Lord's coming cannot
now be far off. However, these visions and warnings
are more specific and very, very close.

Do you have any thoughts or discernment concerning
these messages? Could you give me any leads on others
with a similar sense that the Lord is now speaking to
His people in this way? Any feedback which you might
be able to give me would be greatly appreciated.
