"re:  shephard and sheep"

Dear John,

I look forward to viewing  the doves site, mostly because of the continued expectation of  the return of the Lord Jesus.  Although I personally do not believe that we can know the time or
date of the rapture,  I do believe it pleases the Lord greatly that we have a expectant and restful attitude for His return to us.  I also have a sense that His coming is truly, well, nigh.  Although
I'm not involved in numbers, signs, dreams etc. as my walk with the Lord is very simple but
not boring, something lovely happened the other day which I thought it would be good to share for edifying others as it edified me.

As I was on my daily walk with my dog, I walk by this lovely property by the sea.  The owners of this property live in another city and use this as a getaway.  On this property they have 4 sheep and without a doubt they are the healthiest best fed sheep I've ever seen.  I love to walk by them and see them contentedly lying on the grass and am continually reminded of our Good and Gracious Shepherd who cares for the life of His sheep continually.  I have received abundant
blessings and admonitions from the Lord on Psalm 23 from this continual picture I see.
Anyways, for a long time this beautiful picture has always been the same.  There is a road that
leads into their property and on the far side of the road a good distance from the entrance gate
there the sheep lie contented.  I was reminded of the natural fear the sheep have of possible
danger, keeping quite a distance from the entrance gate and always facing it.  Anyways, on this
particular very recent day, for the first time ever, these sheep had come close to the entrance gate and all of them were facing the gate in expectation.  There can be no doubt about it, these
sheep were expecting their master.  When I walked by and talked to them they did not run, they
didn't even move.  Their eyes and heads were fixed on the gate entrance.  Needless to say, I was very surprised at their demeaner and what it meant could not be mistaken.  No doubt there
was something that the Lord was saying here as he has used these sheep before to teach me.
I immediately thought of the rapture and the anticipation of the saints for His return.  As I walked further down the road I could see that there was no car in the driveway so I ascertained that they were not there.  The next day as I took my dog for his walk, lo and behold the owner was there!
The sheep knew.  My sheep hear My voice and they follow Me. This to me is a beautiful picture
that we do not wait in vain.  Hope will become sight.  Just like those sheep.
