"THE RAPTURE AND TITHING"

4/16/2005

Hi John,

Like many on this board, in my heart, I am longing for the Lords return. Paul NF’s post and We Await Jesus’ Coming and Cat’s simple heart’s desire really touched me. . .

I’d like to share a recent dream I had a couple of days ago. . .

I dreamt I was in a valley with a long country road at twilight; I saw clouds or fog on the ground in the distance, and I began to run to the clouds for I knew while I was running that those clouds were going to take me to Jesus. As I was running, every care and concern I have began to fall off of me along with any pain, and the joy I felt was immeasurable. And I ran!

I remember shouting to my family, Hurry up! We gotta go! We’re going to be with Jesus! And when I ran into the cloud, I came to a church with large pillars in front of it and went in. There weren’t very many in the church, just a few. . .As I came in, they were taking up the tithe and offering. I gave my tithe and offering and then I woke up.

My own interpretation is this:

Those in love with Jesus are running toward Him now (going to the tarmac) and shouting back to the one’s we love Come On! Hurry Up! We’re about to go!

The Lord is about to come back in the clouds for those longing for Him and His return, as we ascend every care we have will fall off of us along with any pain and immeasurable joy will fill our hearts! When we reach Him there won’t be as many as we think there should be. And those like Ruth, who with undying devotion, faith, humbleness, thanksgiving and obedience will be offering their treasures to the Lord.

I’ve have never heard anyone relate Malachi chap. 3 (the tithing chapter) to the rapture, BUT IT’S THERE! Malachi 3: 17,18

If you back up and read the whole chapter you will see there that there were two types of believers in this chapter:

Complainers and Trusters or maybe Foolish and Wise (emphasis is mine) Malachi 3: 13-18

In the chapter, it was obvious that things were tough financially and immorality was abounding during that time, for the complainers said that. . .

14 ”It is useless to serve God; What profit is that we have kept His ordinance (tithes and offerings), And that we have walked as mourners Before the Lord of hosts? 15 So now we call the proud blessed, For those who do wickedness are raised up; They even tempt God and go free.’” . . .

This sounds a lot like how things are TODAY!!!!!!!!. . .

A BOOK OF REMEBRANCE

16 Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another (they probably said, “I’m going to serve the Lord no matter what!, this time of hardship is just a testing of our faith and devotion”), And the Lord listened and heard them; So a BOOK OF REMEBRANCE was written before Him For those who fear the Lord And who meditate on His name.

17 “They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “On the day (day of the Lord) that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them As a man spares his own son who serves him.” Then you shall discern Between the righteous and the wicked between one who serves God And one who does NOT serve Him.

Our treasure is where our heart is!

I would love to hear anyone else’s take on this. . .

Ready and Running to Jesus
