"re "Red Alert""

I have just read some of your material on “Five Doves” website. You might be interested in how it came to appear recently on a list my husband Grant Livingstone subscribes to – endtimes-new-events@yahoogroups.com. This list – initiated by Shoshana, a New York Jewess - basically posts articles and comments for Israel-oriented Jews, though  an occasional comment by a Christian source or contributor slips into the list, whereupon Shoshanna may send out a rebuke to tany blatant effort to ‘proseletyze’ for Jesus, the Christian faith or the New Testament. There are a couple of others along with Grant, are circumspect with their contribution. Until this week I have never sent to it, concentrating my e-mail efforts on family and friends early in the morning before Grant gets up and going on the day.

Usually, I quickly scan the morning’s inmail – occasionally reading an item or two from Shoshana’s prolific postings that really interests me, eg Jack Golbert’s and other sources of “Red Alert! American Combat Troops now in Israel” by David (8Apr. 2005). This item of great interest and concern to those of us living in Israel drew a couple of postings enquiring more information on this. One particularly keen contributor by name of R.Kossover got my dander up with some caustic criticism of David in particular and Christians in general, provoking me to respond to him on the list. It was accepted and relayed to all the list without editing or added comment from Shoshanna.

Kossover’s criticism of David who wrote that he was “a daily reader and regular contributor of the Five Doves” was because there was no e-mail address available for him or for other eyewitness reports on this issue. This made him “nervous” and he looked up the Five Doves mentioned in the e-mail at the bottom. Finding it a Christian list, he found fault with its “wrong methods to manipulate and proves its own religious message”. Adding further fire to vent his suspicions that Christian interest in Israel shows an insincere love and concern for the Jewish people. He used an offensive illustration to grudgingly admit that Jews could use this concern from an unclean source of help. As Christians we are to provoke the Jew to jealousy over our receiving salvation through their Messiah. But in this case, Reuven Kossover provoked me to confront him – and other Jewish readers and contributors on the list – with issues of rejection of Messiah and Jewish pain, for centuries of anti-semItism from those who say they love and serve Jesus the Jewish Messiah. Reminds me of a jingle I read years ago: “How odd of God to choose the Jews; but stranger still are those who love their God but hate the Jews.”

Please pray over this reply to some precious Jewish people on this week of Passover that God will use it to take out of the way some of the stones that stumble them in relations with Christian zeal for Zion.        – Barbara Anne Livingstone
