DRIVEN INTO HEAVEN?

Deuteronomy 30:40 says, "If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:"

Jesus said in Matthew 24 that his elect would be gathered from the "heaven" and the "earth".    Here in Deuteronomy, God says to the Israelites, that they may be "driven out", unto the outmost parts of the heaven.    Now, just what does that mean?
During the tribulation years, do you suppose that God's people may be sent into outer space on space ships or something?    We have the technology to do that, incredible as it may seem.   Anybody have any ideas about this?
