"Granny Priscilla - Double-Mindedness"

Hello Sherry. I hate to say this but I am detecting a spirit of double mindedness in you.

SHERRY:  'Double-mindedness' infers a two-fold deceitfulness & lack of insincerity - both of which I deny having.  However, I detect a gentleness in your spirit of "correction", so I'm not upset.  I understand what you think you see is what you described > "Because you've waited for a long time for a pre-trib rapture and it doesn't happen therefore
you conclude there is therefore no pre-trib rapture."....But let me assure you, we are to try the spirits and see if they be of God.  We are to be a workman that needeth not be ashamed and to rightly divide the Word of God.  What happened with me is that I took a closer look at why I had believed what I did, which was mainly because I had been taught that view from the time I got saved.  It seemed to make sense - it certainly was a nice scenario, this being able to escape the trib, and it all seemed to fit neatly into the box....er, "timeline."  Trouble is, I had misunderstood certain critical definitions - such as the "God's wrath" thing....it's so much easier to believe the reason we won't be deceived, nor fall for the ac's lie, nor even to suffer persecution (as will God's own chosen people) is because "we won't be here."  How childish and naieve is that?   No, I'm not "double-minded" - I've just done a "double-take."  And, I assure you, I am faithfully WATCHING and LOOKING FOR HIS APPEARING!.......whenever it is!

You know what the Bible says about that right.  Its one of the fruits of lack of faith.

Because you've waited for a long time for a pre-trib rapture and it doesn't happen therefore
you conclude there is therefore no pre-trib rapture
and that we are also in the tribulation.

SHERRY:  Granny, I don't have "lack of faith" in the rapture at all....and it IS going to happen - it's just a matter of the timing we disagree on - that's all.
A correction of what you said, however >  No, I don't think we are in the "tribulation" (yet) at all!  I think we have found ourselves now well into the 70th Week, which is the Second Week of Jacob's Trouble - when Jacob shall be saved out of it!  Indeed, it seems to be your lack of understanding in that the 70th Week, Jacob's Trouoble, and the covenant with the antichrist is not all one in the same thing!   The "so-called tribulation" (more accurately described as the "covenant with the antichrist) will begin at the signing of a "lied-to-agreement" bringing false peace and security.
In order to understand anything at all regarding the Timeline, you must start with the premise that the analogy of Jacob's Trouble has held true down to the very details using historic hindsight.  God tells the END FROM THE BEGINNING.  It's not only how we learn what was and what will be; but it strengthens our faith and trust to SEE it being accomplished NOW just as it was THEN!  Surprise surprise - then it is true that we who watch and know these things & recognize the prophetic fulfillment, will NOT be surprised when they happen.

Be very careful how you say things because what you are saying

has the potential of derailing the faith of some and
also cause some to be lukewarm in the process since
you say they will end up tribulating they might as
well go partying and living how they like and then
face tribulation as well come what may.

SHERRY:  As far as "derailing the faith of some" or giving others  a license to sin...please read my post "DESPERATION."  This was an answer to someone whose faith seems to be "derailed" due to thinking they may not "escape" the tribulation.  I think I gave sound biblical reasons to show we'd better not let ourselves get derailed, and it's better to WATCH and KNOW than to be taken by surprise.  (WHO said THAT?)
Have you ever heard that old adage used by people witnessing to an unbeliever > "Well, if what YOU say is true then we lose nothing - but if what I say is true, you will have lost everything."  By the same token, we could say if the rapture happens before the covenant with the antichrist begins....we don't have to worry about any of this; we'll be gone!.....BUT, when it becomes obvious that we are still around and will face tribulation, then better to have watched and know  (so as not to be taken by surprise)!   This is NOT lack of faith - it is wise and prudent preparation - just as Jesus instructed.

This is not what the Bible says and I'm afraid if the pre-trib

rapture doctrine is right----which it is, then you
have the potential of being left out because of your
lack of faith and diligence.

SHERRY:  Does this mean that you believe that once someone is saved, they can be lost again?  Does this mean that even though the Word says NOTHING can separate us from the love of God - nothing, not even doubt (look up Thomas when you get up there and ask him about that)...or better yet, READ and BELIEVE it in John 20:24-27, Thomas said "...except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe."  But later when Jesus appeared to them again, Jesus compassionately said to Thomas, "Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand and thrust it into my side and be not faithless, but believing."   You see, Granny,  He knows the doubts that may creep in due to various reasons, perhaps  illness, tragedy,  weariness, etc. and Jesus knows our hearts and our weaknesses.  He is not going to leave anyone behind because they get discouraged or doubtful at times.
HOWEVER, let me be quick to add, I AM NOT DOUBTFUL OF THE RAPTURE nor of His faithfulness!  I am doubtful, though, that there is going to be an "early escape", if you will.
So, that's all I got to say about that in this post.  I think if anyone wishes to read the posts I sent they might better understand WHY I believe we are well into the 70th Week of Daniel even now....and that the covenant with the antichrist is on the horizon....and that the church is indeed STILL HERE in all it's carnal glory and rights.
