"Shelva Sirry"
Hi Shelva
and Doves. After reading your post, got out book (His
Glory Revealed) by John Hagee (my all-time favorite TV preacher...love
that man). The Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) for 2004 falls
on September 16. Pastor Hagee believes the Feast of Pentecost
pictures the betrothal ceremony; and the Feast of Trumpets points to the
actual wedding!
A
shofar on Rosh Hashanah is sounded in 3 ways, sounds known as tekiah,
shevarim, and truah - but one distinguishing feature of the
Jewish celebration is the last, climactic blast, known as the Tekiah
Gedolah. This is not the usual series of short bursts, indicating alarm,
but a long blast, signaling victory. John Hagee believes this last blast
is the "last trumpet" to which Paul the Apostle referred.
"Behold,
I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed
- in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the
trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall
be changed."
Father,
help us not to be like the foolish virgins who had no oil for their lamps
when the bridegroom approached. Help us to be ready, to quiet our
hearts, and to listen for the shofar and the loving sound of the Bridegroom's
voice.
YSIC,
Sandra Jean
