THE THINGS YOU MEAN TO ME

If I could write a poem to show the things I've learned and come to know

The way I feel so real and true, these are the things I'd say to You:

The smell of rain, the taste of sun

The wonders of wind, it makes me feel young

The dance of lightning, the thunder's roar

The sparkle of dew drops makes me love You more.

The song of the sparrow, the call of the crow

The wing of the eagle, is all I need to know.

The tide of the ocean, the stars of the sea

The rhythm of raindrops shows me how much You love me.

The magic of moonlight, the silver of sky

The spectrum of color, the touch of a sigh.

The fragrance of roses, the silk of a web

The sand of the seashore, the caress of its' ebb.

The voice of the wild wolf, the flash of the fish

The beauty of creation is all I could ever wish.

The sweetness of a puppy, the sass of a cat

The emotion of an animal is where Your nature is at.

The grace of a falling leaf, the top of a tree

The majesty of a mountain range is Your awe unto me.

The dawn of a new day, the twilight of eve

The symmetry of a snow flake, the gold of the leaves.

The power of a summer storm, the winter's white cold

The freshness of Springtime, it never grows old.

The innocence of childhood, the savor of sleep

The welcome of waking up from those depths so deep.

The love of a cherished friend, the joy of a laugh

The divine/humanity of a hug, combining of two halves.

The sacred wedding of a man and woman, the two becoming one

The perfect example of what You are: Father, Holy Ghost and Son.

The unexplainable, indescribable, the Holy Glorious Power

The Creator of the Universe who made the second and the hour.

The magnificent, wondrous, awesome God, the Lover of my soul

The rewarder of those who diligently seek You, the Giver and the Goal.

The Bridegroom coming on the clouds, the King to reign the earth

The Prince of Peace and Lord of Lords, the very reason for my birth.

I long for You, I yearn for You, I seek to see Your face

I look for You and I find You in every part and place

Of Your creation, Your universe, I see Your touch and art

In every creature and every feature here, even in my heart.

Oh, Lord, my God, my dearest friend, these words could not express

The things I feel for You alone, here beating in my breast.

You are All in All and everything

Alpha and Omega, true

You mean all these things and so much more

My Jesus, I love You!
