"To ProphBuff"
Dear ProphBuff,
You mentioned how many messages are being given today
that point to a great outpouring. I have noticed that, but
I have also read numerous messages that point to the soon return of the
Lord. Like so many issues today, there is a great confusion
in the camp of God's people. Both of these viewpoints
cannot be correct.
The Lord himself said His coming would be like the days
of Noah and like the days of Soddom. What revival was going
on then? What great outpouring was present in those societies?
If we are to receive something greater than the outpouring of the Holy
Spirit at Pentecost, I am not sure how it would agree with scripture.
I am wary of the self-proclaimed prophets, many of whom attended online
prophecy schools, who write prophecies daily. It would
be better to hear the small, still voice of God who often speaks to us
in a single word or phrase, than to believe in the volumes of prophecies
that are coming out today.
I began to seriously hold these "prophets" accountable
in 1995. I have been printing them and charting their success
for close to a decade. Sadly, there are just a few standing.
I have seen the prophecies of the "new thing", the revivals, the outpouring
of power, etc. come and go; only to be replaced by something else when
these fail. To be honest, it is all quite wearying.
I think the church is swerving from the love of the Word itself and devotion
to God in prayer. Without going into detail about the
scriptures you presented, I would ask you to read those passages in Daniel
again and remember the angel was speaking to Daniel and said "Thy people
Daniel." It would be obvious he was referring to the Jewish
people. Perhaps the 144,000 will fulfill the great exploits
during the difficulties of the tribulation.
Regards,
Patrick H
