Donna asked about the time frames of days, months, and years. Stongs # 3117 the word for Yom has many applications...but generally it can be used as any time frame...day, month, year, age etc. etc.
It has the connotation of being the "Hot" part of the day, or the part illuminated by the sun.
It can also mean to the end, or continually. Also, it can mean chronicals perpetually, season or process of time.
So you can understand how it is sort of a capsule of time.Shalom,
