"Politically Speaking"

Dear Doves,

I have a few questions. Perhaps you can provide the answers.

After reviewing the posts which speak negatively about our President, George W. Bush, I gather that these unfavorable reviews are based on the following:

He belonged to the Skull % Bones
He broke bread with Muslims in the White House
He said that Islam is a religion of peace
His roadmap is 'dividing the land'
He is not really a born-again Christian
He is not enough of a conservative

I'm sure there are other factoids I missed. What are they and do they really matter?

Now, imagine John Kerry as President. Which one of the above statements would be false if applied to him? I purport that there isn't one. So, the conclusion that these posters must reach is that neither man is worthy to represent Christian voters.

Assuming that there will be an election in November for which we are present, for whom do they cast their vote? Or, do they not cast one at all? I would like to point out to them that the absence of  their vote is simply a vote for the other guy.

Consider this viewpoint: As born-again Christians, we are to support Israel's claim to 'the land'. This presumes that Israel will be in a position to claim it. Without the United States, Israel's survival is dependent solely on God's direct intervention. God will surly intervene when all nations are gathered against Israel, but is that scenario likely in the next four years? We don't really know, no matter how much we wish to shorten the time before the Second Coming. So, what do we do, politically speaking, in the meantime?

Our existence as a nation is currently threatened. If we go down due to the actions of the terrorists resulting in physical and/or economic collapse, all other political issues currently debated in print and on the air waves become suddenly irrelevant. I venture to say that the only issues we, as Americans and as Christians, need to consider in regard to the coming election is our NATIONAL SECURITY and which candidate is more likely to support Israel in the face of world opposition. What is the alternative?

God Bless
