"5 weeks in Mexico"

Please read this carefully to avoid jumping to a stifling response.

I just returned from 5 weeks in Mexico in which I helped some with a ministry that have a Victory Outreach like drug rehab program. There were some awesome times that the presence of the Lord was very tangible. I remember one of those times where a homosexual man who came into this program to get set free spent time on the floor weeping loudly during a church service in which God was filling his presence with.  God was gently healing his past. I had many great experiences there while I did a lot of physical construction work.

When I came home my sister told me to ask her husband about his gold dust experience. I recall the discussion here about that phenomena and was sceptically but I listened. He actually showed me the fine dust that he collected on a scarf and that was still in his bible. It was very very fine.
He described this happening during a church service in which the scripture was being read and during praise time. I have never seen this but I had been at a place where a friend of mine received a gold filling during a service. It did not seem to me much different than any other service but God did some miracles and this was one of them.

Now many of us know that the presence of the Holy Spirit can tangibly manifest itself. Even carnal Saul prophesied a whole day when the presence came down. He couldn't help it. We do know he failed, like many who are not careful. The Holy Spirit manifests itself in many forms so that those who are not saved can witness his reality. It is not just tongues and prophesying. It is also healing, a warm presence, dreams, visions, perhaps some physical sign like the cross of twisted beams that stood at the wreckage of the twin towers. There are many stories in the bible where the Holy Spirit has done incredible things, we still see them at times today if we are willing to pay attention. We are warned of false signs but we have become over paranoid and been deceived into shutting out any move of God because it makes us uncomfortable and also makes us accept our own lack of his presence as being OK.

So why are gifts of God in this day so limited, have we prevented the Holy Spirit. Part time, this part time that. I think so. Many of us do not go all the way and be enveloped in God's presence. We are handicapped, trapped and we just settle for that. We are told we are free in Christ and that it is just our thinking that is wrong. This is paritaly true. The problem is many of us have spiritual bondage's that we are told are not there by others who are also bound. That is not the way God intends us to be. He wants us walking fully to him, We know this yet our minds not being disciplined are given over useless pursuits, We listened to hours of political commentaries or other distractions. Our thoughts easily go to dangerous territory because we can and no one can see our thoughts, we think, and so these things bind us up.

I know, and you know there is a better place. Many of those who experience a fullness of the Holy Spirit have yielded their time fully to God and even given up their careers to serve him full time. But it is also the thought life, allowing him in full time, and cleaning house. In a clean house the fullness of God will move, I believe. Not just thinking about or fantasizing about serving the Lord in such a fashion that you can only dream about, but actually following through. God said that the latter rain would be greater. How do you suppose that will manifest itself?. For sure it will be tangible and not just a thought, idea, belief or fad. It will be tangible and we need to be willing to follow thru and not stifle it or settle for mediocrity. Forget all the arguments and fears and ask yourself. Is the fullness of God really working in me or am I ineffective and luke warm? I know that I am not the only one who has settled for less.

God bless
