I always enjoy reading Miriam's post, whether I agree on a given issue or not. I have a question regarding her post from yesterday.

My response --

It looks to me as though there are only 482 years between those two dates, due to the fact there is no "Zero Year".  The 483rd year would have been 27 A.D. given the starting date.

457 B.C. - 456 years = 1 B.C.

1 B.C. - 1 year = 1 A.D.

So there are 457 years from 1Tishri 457 B.C. unto 1 Tishri 1 A.D.

From 1 Trishri 1 A.D. unto 1 Tishri 26 A.D. = 25 years

Therefore: 457 + 25 = 482 years

Just my thoughts.
