(I don't know why the authors of some of these articles think that Oregon is the only state that was allowing same-sex marriages because they are still going on in New Paltz, New York.  According to the article below, the town of New Paltz is thinking of appointing marriage officers so that gay marriages can be done in a private setting to cut down on hiring police officers.)
