Dear Rhonda,
Thanks again for posting your poetry.
The section of your poem "BE REAL TO ME" at http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/apr2004/rhondaj49-1.htm that moved me to tears was:
YOU KNOW IF THEY OFFERED ME THE WHOLE WIDE WORLDWITH ALL OF IT'S TREASURES FROM MOUNTAIN TO SEA
I'D TURN THEM ALL DOWN FOR A MOMENT IN GLORY
IF YOU WOULD JUST TOUCH ME AND BE REAL TO ME.
Although you were speaking of the Lord, it also made me think of my own mother's death at the age of 38 when I was 16, and what I would have given just to see her once more and to steal up behind her while she was doing the dishes -- just to wrap my arms around her waist and squeeze her tight and tell her once more that I loved her. I would have given years off of my life these past 39 years if it was possible, but of course, I know it isn't. Thanks again for sharing that poem!
God bless you,
Donna
