And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up,
and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth
that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
(Daniel 7:20)
Antichrist is an apostate Christian according to Scripture.
The Bible specifically identifies antichrist as arising out of the Christian
faith. It is specific that his forefathers were of the Christian faith.
These scriptures specifically mention antichrist:1. The Bible declares in Daniel 11:37:
"He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor
regard any god;...."In the Bible, God with a capital "G" means God Almighty. The God of the
Christian and Jew. The second time in this sentence, it is god, with a
little "g", one of many gods that are no gods. This alone proves that the
antichrist must be either Christian or Jew.2. John leaves no doubt about where antichrist will arise. In 1 John
2:18,19:"Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist
shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is
the last time"."THEY went out FROM US but they were not of us; for if they had been of us,
they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they
might be made manifest that they were not of us".Here John specifically mentions in verse 18 "the" antichrist, grouped
together with other antichrists. In verse 19, he writes that they
(antichrist and other antichrists) "went out from us".It cannot be more clear than that!
John goes on to say in verse 22:
"Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist
that denieth the Father and the Son".In the next verse, 23, John explains why:
"Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: but he that
acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also".Agreeing with verses 18 and 19, John indicates that antichrist will be an
apostate Christian.Maranatha,
