Doves:I don't normally watch a movie in the morning but yesterday my father's
nurse came in late and, while sitting with him, I got involved in a TRULY
EXCELLENT movie on AMC which I had never seen. It is called "No
Highway in the Sky" with Jimmy Stewart and Marlene Dietrich.A little-known gem, No Highway in the Sky is an interesting
hybrid of U.S. and British film production. Most of the cast
is British, as are the look and feel of the film, but the lead
actor and the budget are both American. James Stewart plays
aeronautical engineer Theodore Honey, the quintessential
absent-minded professor: eccentric, forgetful, but brilliant.
His studies show that the aircraft being manufactured by his
employer has a subtle but deadly design flaw that manifests
itself only after the aircraft has flown a certain number of hours.
En route to a crash site to prove his theory, Honey discovers
that he is aboard a plane rapidly approaching his predicted
deadline. Marlene Dietrich costars with Stewart, while the balance
of the cast comprises British stars, notably Glynis Johns and Jack
Hawkins. Stewart is excellent, while a young Janette Scott steals
her scenes as Honey's precocious daughter. --Mark SavaryIt was almost like I was SUPPOSED to see this. Jimmy Stewart's
character had done extensive research into a new aluminum design
for a tail section of an airplane. His calculations told him that it would
fail at around 1440 hours. He found himself on one of these planes
TOO LATE to do anything but complain. When the plane arrived
safely to its destination, he was ostracized by MANY but his sincerity
won over a few "converts". After that type plane was grounded, he was
later proved to be correct when the tail section of a crashed plane was
found far away from the body of the plane. Also his experimental tail
section fell off at just a few more hours than the 1440.Are we, numerically and Biblically, being shown things now that others,
"AFTER THE RAPTURE", will WISH they had known or looked into !!!GOD BLESS!!!
